A Brief Primer on Energy

First came fire. Then the wheel. Then, shortly thereafter in relative terms, the internal combustion engine, the light bulb, airplanes, air conditioning, the Internet, really cool kitchen equipment and lots of other good stuff.

Much of that stuff that allowed us to move from the trees and caves to our current high-tech dwellings, that moved us from goat barter to contemporary commerce, that allowed some of us to work where we live and others to commute requires fuel and energy.

The more a civilization progresses, the more energy and the more varied forms of energy it needs. Where once there were relatively few progressing civilizations in the world, there are now many, all competing for energy.

As you may have heard, China, India and Japan have some of the really good stuff we in the United States have and they want a lot more of it, and they also have a lot more people to supply it to. But there are other countries that, for the moment, just need clean water and basic electricity and basic transportation.

All, on a global basis, are competing for energy resources, of which, for the moment, fossil fuels are the most necessary. You can’t build a hydroelectric dam, or a nuclear plant, or a windmill farm or a solar array without trucks and other equipment powered by fossil fuels.

Fossil fuels are not scarce and will not be scarce until far into the future. The end use availability of fossil fuels is scarce, for numerous reasons, including some that are arbitrary (OPEC production quotas, for example), others that are geopolitical and others resulting from sheer political stupidity. It is to the latter that we shall speak.

The cost of fuel and energy are governed by an economic concept called supply and demand. Perhaps you have heard of it, but even if you have not, it is a fact. When supply exceeds demand, prices are lower. When demand exceeds supply, prices are higher. Supply and demand works for goats and energy and every other area of commerce.

Blessed be those who have supply. Cursed be those who don’t. Facts of life, rules of the world, and so on and so forth.

It’s time to change the rules. The U.S. has ample supply. We have fossil fuels, of all types. We have innovation and expertise. We have technology. We just need to make the energy to which we have access available.

To make our supply available, we must demand it, in no uncertain terms. We must demand it from those who control it. Yes, our government. It is surely not those who want to get it and sell it to you who are the problem.

Now, you can spend your days ranting and raving about the environmentalists or Hugo Chavez and the oil sheiks. You should understand those issues, but ranting and raving about them will get you not one drop of oil, not one btu of coal, not one kilowatt of electricity. Not one.

We must demand the development of the energy resources we have and those we can develop. It doesn’t matter what they are. Oil, gas, coal, nuclear, wind, water, solar. We need them all and we need them now.

Government has obstructed safe and reasonable plans to allow us to have our supply of energy. The whys are no longer relevant. You’re not going to remove that obstruction by being nice or by cursing under your breath at the pump or when your power bill comes. You’re not going to get it by being respectful during the demagoguery regarding “green” this and that or punishing those who bring you the energy we have.

You’re only going to remove the obstruction to your supply when you demand it. Drill the oil. Dig the coal. Build the refineries. Build the nuclear power plants. Build the wind farms.

Rise up now. Go to your windows. And shout into the streets and into the corridors of power. Fill the ballot boxes against those who obstruct. Do it once, twice, as often as it takes, because if you do not, you are going to awake one fine cold morning and have to burn the tires of your useless vehicle to heat your dead house.

Cursed be those who deny us our very own energy supply which we herewith demand.

End of lesson.

EUROPE - THY NAME IS COWARDICE

by Mathias Dapfner CEO, Axel Springer, AG

Printed in DIE WELT, Germany 's largest daily paper

Finally someone gets it.

It's fascinating that this should come out of Europe. Matthias Dapfner, Chief Executive of the huge German publisher Axel Springer AG, has written a blistering attack in DIE WELT, Germany's largest daily paper, against the timid reaction of Europe in the face of the Islamic threat.

This is a must read by all Americans. History will certify its correctness.

Printable Version

A few days ago Henry Broder wrote in Welt am Sonntag, " Europe - your family name is appeasement." It's a phrase you can't get out of your head because it's so terribly true.

Appeasement cost millions of Jews and non-Jews their lives as England and France, allies at the time, negotiated and hesitated too long before they noticed that Hitler had to be fought, not bound to toothless agreements.

Appeasement legitimized and stabilized Communism in the Soviet Union, then East Germany, then all the rest of Eastern Europe where for decades, inhuman suppressive, murderous governments were glorified as the ideologically correct alternative to all other possibilities.

Appeasement crippled Europe when genocide ran rampant in Kosovo, and even though we had absolute proof of ongoing mass-murder, we Europeans debated and debated and debated, and were still debating when finally the Americans had to come from halfway around the world, into Europe yet again, and do our work for us.

Rather than protecting democracy in the Middle East, European appeasement, camouflaged behind the fuzzy word "equidistance,"now countenances suicide bombings in Israel by fundamentalist Palestinians.

Appeasement generates a mentality that allows Europe to ignore nearly 500,000 victims of Saddam's torture and murder machinery and, motivated by the self-righteousness of the peace-movement, has the gall to issue bad grades to George Bush... Even as it is uncovered that the loudest critics of the American action in Iraq made illicit billions, no, TENS of billions, in the corrupt U.N. Oil-for-Food program.

And now we are faced with a particularly grotesque form of appeasement. How is Germany reacting to the escalating violence by Islamic fundamentalists in Holland and elsewhere? By suggesting that we really should have a "Muslim Holiday" in Germany?

I wish I were joking, but I am not. A substantial fraction of our (German) Government, and if the polls are to be believed, the German people, actually believe that creating an Official State "Muslim Holiday" will somehow spare us from the wrath of the fanatical Islamists.

One cannot help but recall Britain's Neville Chamberlain waving the laughable treaty signed by Adolph Hitler, and declaring European "Peace in our time".

What else has to happen before the European public and its political leadership get it? There is a sort of crusade underway, an especially perfidious crusade consisting of systematic attacks by fanatic Muslims, focused on civilians, directed against our free, open Western societies, and intent upon Western Civilization's utter destruction.

It is a conflict that will most likely last longer than any of the great military conflicts of the last century - a conflict conducted by an enemy that cannot be tamed by "tolerance" and "accommodation" but is actually spurred on by such gestures, which have proven to be, and will always be taken by the Islamists for signs of weakness.

Only two recent American Presidents had the courage needed for anti-appeasement: Reagan and Bush.

His American critics may quibble over the details, but we Europeans know the truth. We saw it first hand: Ronald Reagan ended the Cold War, freeing half of the German people from nearly 50 years of terror and virtual slavery. And Bush, supported only by the Social Democrat Blair, acting on moral conviction, recognized the danger in the Islamic War against democracy. His place in history will have to be evaluated after a number of years have passed.

In the meantime, Europe sits back with charismatic self-confidence in the multicultural corner, instead of defending liberal society's values and being an attractive center of power on the same playing field as the true great powers, America and China.

On the contrary - we Europeans present ourselves, in contrast to those arrogant Americans", as the World Champions of "tolerance", which even ( Germany's Interior Minister) Otto Schily justifiably criticizes.

Why? Because we're so moral? I fear it's more because we're so materialistic so devoid of a moral compass.

For his policies, Bush risks the fall of the dollar, huge amounts of additional national debt, and a massive and persistent burden on the American economy - because unlike almost all of Europe, Bush realizes what is at stake - literally everything.

While we criticize the "capitalistic robber barons" of America because they seem too sure of their priorities, we timidly defend our Social Welfare systems. Stay out of it! It could get expensive! We'd rather discuss reducing our 35-hour workweek or our dental coverage, or our 4 weeks of paid vacation... Or listen to TV pastors preach about the need to "reach out to terrorists. To understand and forgive".

These days, Europe reminds me of an old woman who, with shaking hands, frantically hides her last pieces of jewelry when she notices a robber breaking into a neighbor's house.

Appeasement?

Europe , thy name is Cowardic

CONFERENCE BOARD TELLS BIG FAT GLOBAL WARMING LIES

While our attention remains focused on the election campaigns and the struggle to establish a free and democratic Iraq, the propaganda war to convince Americans that "global warming" is a threat continues unabated. Here is a look at the latest effort that has enlisted the aid of a noted business organization. A Norton AntiVirus protected text is attached and permission to publish is granted. -- Alan Caruba

September 27, 2004

I think most people, whether they know anything about the science involved, have decided that more than twenty years of lies about “global warming” have failed to demonstrate it is happening or likely to occur any time soon.

Most have concluded, quite sensibly, that the Earth is warmed by the Sun and that there isn’t a damned thing we could do about it, if it either warmed or cooled. Moreover, movies showing the Statue of Liberty drowning beneath the waves are about as believable as the “Planet of the Apes” film that showed it washed up on a beach.

So why is the Conference Board, a corporate business think tank, wasting its time announcing, as it did on September 7, that “Growing scientific evidence is confirming that the world’s climate is radically changing and that human activity is now contributing to global warming.” The answer is that the Conference Board, in league with the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Environmental Defense, has sadly been sucked into the Great Global Warming Scam (GGWS).

Obviously, no one among the leadership of the Conference Board has a clue about the real science that refutes the GGWS. Instead, they have relied upon a panel of scientists with impressive credentials and affiliations with major universities. However, there are many more scientists with equally impressive credentials that have carefully examined climate records and concluded global warming claims are a complete subversion of the known facts.

The Conference Board report concludes that, “The Earth—for whatever the exact reasons—is on a trajectory toward an ever warmer climate.” Someone should tell the Conference Board that the Earth has been warming since the last Ice Age ended eighteen million years ago. Someone should tell the Conference Board that, in the 1970s, environmentalist scientists were predicting a new Ice Age was just around the corner.

Most telling is that wonderful aside “for whatever the exact reasons” that tells us that the Ph.D.s who put the report together were, as always with the GGWS, fudging the fact that the Sun will decide the Earth’s temperatures and not “human activity.” Naturally, though, the Board’s announcement says, “Participating scientists in the report strongly believe that ‘a reduction in human-caused emissions is an essential step in any overall strategy for dealing with climate change.”

“Human-caused emissions” does not, one presume, include all that methane that vast herds of cattle and other herbivores emit daily. These are the GGWS code words for reversing industrialization, i.e., the burning of fossil fuels for the production of, well, everything. It is the raison d’etre of the United Nations Kyoto Protocols on Climate Change. The United States has firmly rejected it. The Russian Federation wants nothing to do with it. And both China and India are exempt from it! Its impact on developing nations would be devastating and it would reverse the prosperity of industrialized nations.

The Conference Board report cites the usual elements of the GGWS. It talks of ocean warming and the rise in sea levels though it notes that, “both the rate and the amount of sea level rises are, as with most other climate change patterns, subject to uncertainty.” Not really, in 2001 Cecile Cabanes calculated sea-level rise for the last half-century around the world and concluded that in Bangladesh for example, in the last fifty years, it has risen an infinitesimal seven-tenths of an inch! The only uncertainty one should entertain is the level of idiocy the Conference Board report reflects.

The report worried that spring is now arriving (gasp!) on the average, 2.5 days per decade earlier than it did a century ago, but fails to note that, between 1850 and 1950, the Earth warmed about one degree Fahrenheit and then stopped warming! We’ve already had a half-century since then and if spring is arriving early, who cares?

The report worried about mountain glaciers such as those in Montana’s Glacier National Park, “which account for about ten percent of the world’s surface water, are melting.” Let’s make this as easy to understand as possible. In the summer, glaciers melt. If you check out data from the National Climatic data center, you would discover that average summer temperatures over Western Montana showed absolutely no warming trend in the last century.

The thing that got my attention was the way the Conference Board report came out at the same time that the September issue of National Geographic magazine devoted itself to the same GGWS hogwash. It, too, is filled with the same balderdash and gibberish. Patrick J. Michaels, a senior fellow in environmental studies at the Cato Institute, spotted 35 significant errors put forth as scientific truths. Shame on National Geographic.

This coordination of the assault on the truth about the Earth’s climate is a hallmark of environmental organizations and accounts for each new or revised scare campaign they manufacture in their never ending attack on the vast improvement of life on Earth resulting from free market economies and the products and services that result.

Disdain and contempt for human life is the rampant theme of environmentalism. You are still more likely to be threatened by a raging hurricane or a blizzard than from SUV’s, pesticides, or the use of coal, oil and natural gas to light, warm or cool your home or apartment.

As the latest phase of the Great Global Warming Scam heats up, you can always use the latest Conference Board report to start a nice blaze in your fireplace if you have one, but remember, this will constitute yet another form of “human emissions.”

TRASHING THE TRUTH

By Chuck Diaz

This trend is how the truth bears no importance in a debate conversation, an argument or how we live our lives. The best way to explain this is to give you some examples of what I mean.

If I am engaged in a debate or an interview, with let's say a Sierra Clubber, and I make the following statement:

"There are more trees in America today than there were at the turn of the century," it is a true and factual statement.

At that point the Sierra Clubber could stand up and say, "The only reason he says that is because he is a front man for the logging industry," which is not true on two counts. (1.) That is not the only reason I said it and

(2.) I am not a front man for the logging industry.

But in the eyes of the audience, and the interviewer, my credibility has been damaged and my opponent has trashed the truth.

The truth lies there on the ground while a perceived truth, based on a holier than thou purest statement, is accepted. After all the Sierra Clubber only has your best interest at heart, why would he lie? His cause is good, his cause is kind, it is what we should accept. And so it goes. A lie has overcome and the lie persists.

This trend started in the sixties and seventies and has been used by the Greens and more recently by politicians to gaits the trust and support of the people. It is almost impossible for any industry representative to stand up to that kind of a statement, because everyone knows any industry rep is a lying, cheating, money hungry rat.

Once that seed is planted the real enemies of industry can rule with any statement they make and that is exactly what is happening now. They have trashed every truth in science, technology and life. And you, the sheep, are eating it up.

Nuclear energy is perceived as too expensive and too dangerous to deal with, when the truth is just the opposite. It is too expensive, but that is due to the mass of regulations the Greens have imposed with support of more lies that trash the truth about nuclear power. Most Americans believe there's an ozone hole when there is none. They believe there is a threat of global warming, when there is not.

In our daily life they have trashed common sense and individual intelligence with a belief that only a college education can qualify a person for anything. Jobs that used to be learned "on the job" now require a degree. For no other reason than the perception of the need.

In the late 50’s I joined a manufacturing company after being discharged from the Air Force. Not having any particular experience, except as a radar controller, I started out on the ground floor as a machine shop loader. A loader is the one who carries bar stock to the machines and moves parts from one machine to another.   I was soon promoted to a machine shop scheduler then an expeditor, then planner, then coordinator and finally, I was made the supervisor of the department that I was hired as a loader a short three years before.  This was because the company literally had a ladder that any qualified person could climb based on ability. And remember, I was a minority without a college education and this all happened before the civil rights bill became law.   The ladder actually led to department manager and Vice President.  I doubt that it would have led to president of the company considering the company was privately owned. But that was fair.

During that climb I learned manufacturing control, inventory control, production planning and management techniques. I also learned about computer applications as used in manufacturing companies which, later in life, led to me founding and publishing a computer magazine that is currently read in over twenty countries. I also became recognized as a published expert in manufacturing systems and I have consulted for many companies in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Korea, helping them to become profitable in their manufacturing efforts. All without a degree because during my early years it was a time when individual intelligence was considered an asset and allowed to grow.

Today, I would not be able to do the same thing at the same company because the jobs now require a college degree. They will hire a planner off the street as long as he has a degree. He has no product knowledge, no company knowledge no pride in having worked his way up. They require a degree and the basic job functions haven't changed one iota. Only the perception. They will try to imply, “this is the computer age and you must have a degree." Bill Gates the founder of one of the largest computer software companies in the world, Microsoft, doesn't have a degree. Fourteen of the signers of the Constitution didn't have degrees!

At the same time the workers at the bottom of the ladder have no ladder to climb. They are stuck in a job they may outgrow in a short time, so they will leave. All because the truth that individual intelligence and common sense is all anyone needs to get ahead, has been trashed.

A friend of mine felt the result of this trashing in another way while he attended a reception. During the reception he was engaged in a conversation with another individual about something of interest. Another guest walked up and listened for awhile. After my friend expressed an opinion regarding our current economic situation the listener asked my friend if he was a Ph.D. or an economist. My friend answered no and the other guest looked him in the eye and stated, "You obviously don't know what you are talking about."

The idea that a human can't know what he is talking about unless he has a college degree is the greatest trashing of the truth perpetrated on humans, but the elite idiot with the degree believes it. If you ever want to see a gaggle of elite idiots that believe it, visit Congress.

Individual initiative, common sense and the brains you are born with are at the root of a capitalist system that breeds entrepreneurship. Being brainwashed by a liberally controlled university system is just another prerequisite for the socialistic state. And getting a hold of our children is key at an early age and is another key factor in the socialistic state. It's a way of producing robots that live the party line. Remember, the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world!

I'm not discounting the importance of certain professional careers like medicine or engineering and science, but degrees aren't an indication of a person's intelligence or ability, even in those fields. Look at Stephen Schnieder, the so-called scientist and media darling who, not so long ago, was screaming "ice age" and now is the leading proponent of "global warming" in America. This man is no more a scientist than I am!

If you compared 100 people with or without degrees, there would be a variance in intelligence, ability, aggressiveness, common sense, desire and imagination within each group. The degrees aren't worth the paper their printed on when it comes to surviving in the jungle unless society makes it that way, as it is today. Regardless of this, true entrepreneurship can not be taught.

I did have a laugh when a local radio station interviewed an owner of two McDonald's and referred to him as an entrepreneur. He is not an entrepreneur, he is a businessman. Calling him an entrepreneur is like calling a pilot an aircraft manufacturer.

Entrepreneurs create something out of nothing, and that takes brains, guts, drive, determination, imagination and luck. You don't get all that studying the "Habits of Native Americans," "Basket Weaving" or "Being Gay Is Wonderful 101." And that's the truth!

Scientist Finds Another Nail For Global Warming Coffin

Green's Favorite Scare Tactic Fatally Flawed

 Washington, DC

Findings by North Carolina State University researcher Vnod K. Saxena support a key element of the science explained in The Greening of Planet Earth, a videotape produced by the Institute for Biospheric Research with funding from Western Fuels Association and consumer-owned electric utilities.

Dr. Saxena's results, presented during the Spring meeting of the American Geophysical Union in Baltimore last week, concern the cloud forming potential of aerosols released by soil micro-organisms and phytoplankton, and their potential to compensate for global warming. Both are natural sources.

In The Greening of Planet Earth, Dr. Sherwood Idso a physicist with the Agricultural Research Service, explained that if there were a warming of the world, there would be a warming of the oceans and the land that warming would stimulate the productivity of unicellular algae (phytoplankton) and soil microorganisms, causing them to increase production of various substances. According to Idso, "One of these substances is something we call dimethylsulfide, or DMS. It makes its way into the atmosphere as a gas, where it is converted into particles around which water vapor condenses, to create more cloud particles. With more cloud particles you have brighter clouds. This reflects more of the incoming solar radiation back to space, and it cools the planet." Dr. Idso describes it as a naturally occurring global thermostat.

Dr. Saxena, a professor of marine, earth, and atmospheric sciences, documented one such mechanism earlier this year in research supported by the National Science Foundation at the Palmer Station, Antarctica. Other aspects of his research rely on measurements by the Georgia Institute of Technology and National Center for Atmospheric Research, and the support of the Southeast Regional Center of the National Institute for the Global Environmental Change by the U.S. Department of Energy.

In the pristine Antarctic environment Dr. Saxena recorded cloud-mediated production of aerosols using a ground-based Fukuta Saxena Cloud Condensation Nuclei (CCN) Spectrometer on four separate occasions during austral summer. During these episodes, nucleation bursts that generally occur when clouds are dissipating, increased CCN concentrations by a factor of four or more relative to pre-episodic values. One result of this phenomenon is an increase in new cloud formation, because CCN are the basic building blocks of clouds. Nucleation bursts also cause an increase in the short wave albedo (reflective power) of existing low-level clouds, which can reflect incoming radiation from the sun and promote an overall cooling effect.

Increases in CCN concentration of this reported magnitude could elevate the global albodo by about 1.7%, which approaches the 2% increase needed to counteract the greenhouse warming of the earth-troposphere system predicted from a doubling of carbon dioxide concentrations in most computer models.

The significance of Dr. Saxena's work is, in part, the fact that it represents the first documentation of this phenomenon that has not been influenced by man-made or anthropogenically released aerosols. This is due to the study site's remote location and the ground-based sampling technique that was used. Dr. Saxena's measurements establish that releases of trace gasses such as dimethylsulfide (DMS) and sulfur dioxide (SO,) from soil microorganisms and phytoplankton produce the CCN that can increase cloud formation and albedo levels.

According to Western Fuels Association general manager and chief executive officer Fred Palmer, Dr. Saxena's study is further evidence that the vision of apocalyptic global warming is fatally flawed.

"Our political leaders tell us that because they made a political decision during the presidential campaign to formulate energy policy as if the risk of catastrophic global warming has a basis in fact. We are not to argue or relitigate the science," Palmer states. "All of us want the Administration to be successful, so we believe we do them and electric consumers a disservice if we restrain our efforts to educate people that a true picture of global climate change is a benign one. Energy policy based on bad science is, by definition, bad policy. Expensive energy - and particularly expensive electricity - is where bad energy policy will take us. This outcome must be resisted."

Dr. Saxena will present his findings again in August at the Fourth International Conference of the American Association for Aerosol Research in Los Angeles. He plans to return to the Palmer site in austral spring of 1995 to see if similar results can be obtained under conditions of decreased solar radiation. §

What It Means to be an American

By Chuck Diaz
Printable Version

I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to South Korea on several occasions. On my first visit I was the guest of Samsung, one of the largest corporations in Korea. During that visit I went to a city called Kumi to tour a telecommunications assembly plant. Kumi is about three hours south of Seoul by train.

In Kumi I exited the train station and looked out on the streets filled with people, and I felt something was different. At first it was a funny feeling, and then it struck me I was the only American in a street filled with hundreds if not thousands of Koreans. This was the first time in my life I was where I was the only American in such a large crowd.

Later, on the train back to Seoul, I started to reflect on things I had seen but not given any thought to while traveling. Like the time I was sitting in the bar of the Shilla Hotel, one of Seoul Korea's finest five star hotels. I noticed a German fellow and a French fellow talking to the bartender who was Korean. I observed the German couldn't speak French or Korean, the Frenchman couldn't speak German or Korean and the Korean couldn't speak German or French. They were communicating in English and I felt a feeling of pride when it hit me that our language is the language used by the world to communicate. If you do much traveling there is another fact you quickly learn. There is only one currency that will never be turned down no matter where you are, the American dollar.

I started comparing the difference between a country like Korea, a homogeneous society with one race and nationality, and America. In America we aren't the melting pot we used to be but we are a multi-racial multi-nationality country. I asked myself, "What does an American look like?" An American can be white, black, red, brown, or yellow. An American can have blond hair, black hair, kinky hair or straight hair. In short, you can't tell an American by his or her physical traits.
If there is no physical trait that identifies an American then it must be something else, possibly a frame of mind. It could be an idea or a philosophy we live by. An attitude towards a way of life with a little bit of conceit and arrogance about being American, a pride.

What amazed me was it took my traveling outside the United States before I really started to think about what's happening inside the United States. If you are anything like me, when you return to the U.S., you feel a certain pride in being an American. You can feel good, that is, until you get home and listen to the news, pick up the local newspaper or turn on the TV.

There are certain so-called Americans that have become racially motivated minority groups and are tearing at the fabric of America. Instead of a melting pot, we are becoming more of an egg separator. Factions professing that heritage is more important than being American are unknowingly dividing America into ethnic groups. It seems all some people care about is taking what America has to offer and not give anything back. Not even being proud enough to call themselves Americans first, they hyphenate their nationality by placing an ethnic nationality reference before the word American. They are predominantly Afro-American and Mexican-American. They claim ethnic heritage is more important than American heritage. Instead of assimilating the American thought, the American way, the American dream, they prefer to use all that America has to offer to place their ethnicity above being American. They reject American heritage.

I am an American of Mexican decent, I was born in America, and I was taught and believe George Washington was a hero for me as an American. Today's hyphenated Americans must reject that premise and believe they need to be taught of some other hero's. They demand bilingual education as a better option for their hyphenated American children. The worst possible thing the American educational system could do would be to graduate a student who could not speak English fluently. I called the Tucson Unified School District to find out if a student could graduate without learning English. After many attempts they finally admitted “yes.”

When the Irish, Germans, French and Jews migrated to America they didn't demand to be taught in their languages. Today, Americans of oriental descent aren't demanding to be taught in their language and they are consistently the top performers in our scholastic system. Is it they thought becoming an American was the most important thing in their life? Important enough to leave their country in favor of the land of freedom?
Why is there so much support for today's hyphenated Americans to be brainwashed into believing it's more important to be a hyphenated American? Why aren't they being encouraged to assimilate? In doing what they are doing they not only destroy their children's chance they add unnecessary costs to our educational system by claiming ethnic heritage education is required for self esteem. I'm an American with Mexican decent and I have enough self-esteem for a dozen people. But then I'm proud of being an American.
When it comes to teaching a child reading, writing and arithmetic it doesn't make any difference where you or your parents were born? Yet certain educators say you can't teach all kids out of the same book. What does a child's ethnicity have to do with American history, with grammar, math or science?

Being born American or naturalized a citizen should not be the totally free ride it has become. It is said America gives many freedoms to all when it should be said America gives many freedoms to all those who embrace her.

I’m of Mexican descent and have a Mexican heritage, I grew up surrounded by Mexicans, they were my aunts, uncles, Mother and grandmother. I ate bean burritos before they were invented. I ate tortillas and beans three times a day. I worked in a tortilla factory counting tortillas into one dozen stacks before school at 6 AM when I was nine years old. You don’t have to live in a barrio or come from Mexico to know and live a Mexican culture.

But all my family learned English when they came to America and out of the house they assimilated to American culture. But that was then. Today illegal aliens are demanding laws be passed that will divide America.

The last time anyone tried to divide America a civil war was fought and Americans killed Americans to keep this nation intact. Yet these so called Afro, Mexican and native-Americans do nothing but preach division. They and their supporters believe history must be revised to include a point of view other than American.

They try to belittle America's history by making the white male European connection sound chauvinistically racist. They completely forget the white European male dominated constitutional congress created the very document that allows them the freedom to make those ridiculous charges. They forget the white European male dominated explorers helped carve the greatest nation in the world.

If this experiment called America had not happened, and succeeded, all those who are complaining would be bowing down to a King or sacrificing virgins to some sun god at noon on a daily basis. If we allow them to demean American history we are allowing them to demean the very core of "What it means to be an American."

President Bush just gave one of the best speeches of his political career and MSNBC is now covering the Kerry/Edwards midnight mass in Ohio. Senator Edwards, I have recently found out, paid an estimated six million dollars to finance his own campaign for the senate. Six million dollars was just a portion of the millions he made as a trial lawyer on medical lawsuits that have cost all Americans.
During his time in the senate he hasn’t had any original legislation signed into law. He bought his way into politics and then campaigned for Campaign Finance Reform to stop wealthy special interests from “threatening our democracy.” He’s his own special interest group.
He is a front man for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) and I believe will sell his soul for position and power. He’s a perfect match for Kerry who already has sold his soul.

Unemployment is at 5.5%. Bill Clinton was elected to a second term as president with unemployment was at 5.6% and the media thought it was wonderful.

If you think the Swift Boat Vets for Truth are the only Vietnam Vets group out there log on to www.vnsfvetakerry.com. It stands for Vietnam Special Forces Veterans Against Kerry and this web site is packed with information about the Senator. I would have never believed it but Kerry makes Clinton look good.

Tommy Franks, the Former Commanding General of the freeing of Iraq is giving a speech at the GOP Convention and it’s being covered live on MSNBC. The O’Reilly Factor is interviewing extreme liberal bomb thrower Bill Maher and on CNN Wolf Blitzer and his attack team are interviewing some former Republican aide.
ABC is defending John Kerry against Zell Miller’s speech. CBS is running their standard news and NBC was interviewing Laura Bush.
I guess most of the major news outlets didn’t think General Franks deserved prime time coverage but if it would have been some liberal ex-general I guarantee you the national media would have been right there.

I missed the live Senator Zell Miller speech and I’m watching it now. Zell Miller is a Senator proving he is an American first and his actions tonight were above and beyond the call of duty. For him to place his country in front of politics and tell the truth about what he knows of the Democratic parties “manic obsession to bring down our commander in chief.” He stated “Motivated more by partisan politics than by national security, today's Democratic leaders see America as an occupier, not a liberator.” That’s when he really got visibly upset by Democrats calling our troops occupiers.

September 1, 2004 8:02 PM AZ Time

I’m watching Wolf Blitzer and CNN while he and his two sidekicks give Zell Miller the third degree because of his position as a conservative Democrat. They weren’t interviewing him they were arguing with him in defense of Kerry. Then they brought on a Democratic Senator to counter Senator Miller and he even stated that Wolf’s interview of Senator Miller was a “cross examination.” I wonder if CNN actually believes we swallow their liberal bias or they are just programming to their base. Their ratings prove they along with their liberal base are on the wrong side of history

I’m watching Bono appear on The O’Rielly Factor talking about the AIDS problem in Africa but I still have doubts. I’m sorry but I have a hard time believing that the “Aids” problem isn’t an expanded definition of malaria. Before the AIDS epidemic hit Africa millions were dieing of malaria. AIDS became the political disease it did and you never hear about malaria anymore.
I also truly believe the definition of skin cancer has been expanded to further the lie that UV-B is on the increase because of an ozone hole that’s not there. One day freckles will be called skin cancer when it becomes politically convenient.
Regardless, if the African people are dieing of AIDS or Malaria they are dieing and they need our help. Defining the disease allows defining the cure.

I'm watching Arnold kick butt at the GOP convention and did he kick butt. I told my wife the love he shows for America is real. It's because he is a first generation immigrant. He's a Republican because he grew up under communism and socialism and knows the evil. The elitist liberal left will never understand it because they feel they are above it. That's why in the 1930's Hollywood loved Stalin and today they love Castro. That's why they have made up the myth of McCarthyism. They claim Hollywood writers, producers, directors and actors lives were ruined by the actions of McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee, (HUAC). Hollywoodies were called in front of HUAC. The only problem is McCarthy was a SENATOR. He had nothing to do with HUAC. He wasn't even a SENATOR when the committee was rightfully exposing communist loving Hollywood types. Senator McCarthy came on the scene a few years later and went after communists in the government. The left and some people form his own party finally did him in. BUT, Arnold kicked butt! It's too bad this country has become so politically correct that Arnold is the only one the media won't attack for calling someone a "girlieman."
The GOP should have put Laura Bush on first and finish with Arnold. No offense Mrs. Bush, but Arnold was more than great and had the crowd standing over and over. What a great ending that would have been for the night. Last word to our president; keep your daughters off the national stage. It looks like you're joining Kerry and selling daughters for a vote.

I love the internet! This may be old news to you but it's new to me; Linda Rondstat was booed off the stage at the Alladin Hotel in Las Vegas for dedicating a song to Michael Moore. I Love it! It happened July 20th of this year and it gets better. The president of the Alladin was in the audience and didn't even allow her to go back to her room. He had security walk her from the stage to her bus and had her personal things delivered to the bus. I Love it! Let's hear it for Bill Timmons, president of the Alladin Hotel.

Shepard Smith of Fox News just reported that a new full body CAT-SCAN will subject a patient to as much radiation as Japanese survivors received as a result of the bombing of Hiroshima.
What does that tell you? It tells me the liberal left has one less reason to block nuclear energy.
In a letter to the editor back in 1996, James Bob Gresham (AIA-PE, Paducah, Kentucky) wrote “Paducah has one of the original Nuclear Fission plants that gets all kinds of static from the "radicals." I enjoyed Lloyd J. Mielke's article "The Green Scapegoat." I remember a little news article in USA Today about a shipyard on the northwest coast where nuclear powered ships were repaired. The fear of the one-millirem background radiation in the area caused a health survey of the workers. They found that they had 24% fewer illnesses than a similar control cross section not exposed to the light radiation. Even with this data the feds are planning ways to eliminate that small background radiation.”
Few people know that researchers have found that exposure to 400,000 millirems of radioactivity will result in cancer in half the cases. AND! The Three Mile Island nuclear "disaster" released 1.2 millirems to the surrounding population. That’s ONE POINT TWO!
One-millirem of radiation is equal to watching TV for an entire year. The 1.2 millirems released at Three Mile Island is 399,998.8 millirems short for any concern. Yet the anti-nuclear liberal left Green's want you to believe the accident was on the brink of wiping out half of America.

I was a very young boy when I saw the newsreel of the American bombers bombing the Abbey at Monte Cassino in Italy. Monte Cassino was a monastery and Christian religious site originally built in 549 by St. Benedict.

According the monastery’s website, “Monte Cassino was destroyed by the Lombards ca. 585, by the Saracens in 884, by the Normans in 1046, by an earthquake in 1349, and by American bombs in February of 1944….. It was once again restored and reconsecrated by Pope Paul VI in 1964. It was designated an Italian National Monument in 1966 with the monks acting as guardians.”
I remember that it was only after many American, British, French, Australian and Polish lives were lost that the decision to bomb Monte Cassino was made. I remember it was bombed because the Germans were using it as an observation point to pinpoint allied troops with deadly artillery. Today historians are teaching a different story, that there were no Germans, but the point is a decision to bomb a religious site with 200 bombers was made to save the lives of our troops. It was believed the Germans were using the site as a military observation post and therefore its use justified the bombing.
Today a Muslim cleric is using a religious mosque as a military post. That action, especially by a cleric, means the mosque is a military target and just as in the case of Monte Cassino it will be rebuilt and reconsecrated. To not do the right thing in war is to leave you with choosing the best of the wrong things to do.
President Bush and the Iraqi people must attack any religious site used by evil people who are not true to their faith. If it was a Christian site the New York Times would be calling for an attack.

April 27, 2004

During World War II allied bombers leveled entire cities in Germany. Collateral damage in those days consisted of cows out in the countryside because anything in the targeted city would be leveled. All buildings, churches and hospitals within the city were part of the overall target. On one bombing raid on Tokyo American bombers killed more than 100,000 Japanese and that wasn’t with any atomic bomb. The Germans and Japanese eventually got over what we did and got on with life.
Today in Fallujah we are worried what the rest of the Arab world may think if we attack too harshly. Shades of Vietnam thinking? I’m really disappointed that Washington is calling the shots about Fallujah. To hell with what anyone else thinks. If taking out the entire population of Fallujah can save one American soldier, I vote TAKE IT OUT! Then go to Najaf, they will think differently.

The United Nations is a morally corrupt, intellectually bankrupt and politically a bunch of bureaucratic socialists who could not be trusted to run the Oil for Food Program and can certainly not be trusted to plan a new government in Iraq. What the one-world planners have done is unite the socialists of the world, and U.N., with the Democratic Party in the America. Socialists aren’t America First thinkers. People who call for more U.N. involvement are just that many more united socialists of the world. Any one who plans to turn control of the Iraqi campaign against terror over to the United Nations is nothing more than a shill for France, Germany and the rest of the socialist world. Freedom only exists in a capitalistic America and that is what makes us the country everyone wants to come to. We are the only capitalists in the world but we’re losing ground at record rate to socialism.
Think about that when you vote.
April 13, 2004

Today President Bush acknowledged the campaign in Iraq is just that, a campaign in a larger war on terror. He made the statement in a presidential news conference that posed our president against the hostile media. A media that is overwhelmingly so far left they represent the European Union and all other socialist views of the world. Some of them actually asked the president if he felt he should apologize to the American people for 9/11. They think our president should apologize for something that terrorists did! After eight years of Clinton tearing apart our FBI, CIA and the military THEY want President Bush to apologize.

I have no idea how many million people work for the federal government but if anyone believes that everything changes when a new president starts his office you couldn’t be further from the truth. But you can bet one thing, government workers will lean towards funding more government. I’m not saying all government workers are socialists but a Republican president is probably not very welcome. A new president can’t change the ENTIRE government in four years let alone two or three.
9/11 was born in an evil mind; a mind that no one could have ever second-guessed and we won’t be able to second-guess a second or third attack. We have a lot of free territory to defend and it’s a hell of a lot better we are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan instead of here in the U.S.A.
I just channel surfed over to Paula Zahn on CNN. Talk about UN-AMERICAN gloom and doom, leftist slanted garbage. CNN, in my opinion, is not an American company, it believes its allegiance is to the world. One world, as in the dream of worldwide socialist’s. America is at war and we don’t need to be reminded of the tragedy of war at every turn.
During World War II the media didn’t show the loved ones we lost they showed us what they accomplished. The media was a cheerleader when America’s team was at war.
What gets me is these U.N. loving, socialist, tree-hugging idiots believe that if they appease the people who have already killed socialists they will find a safe world. We are what stand between them and their killers.
Will America abandon our Commander in Chief while we are at war? Are we to become a nation of fear and not back the all-volunteer military? Remember the all-volunteer military.
Spain has voted socialist and the new boss says he will pull all Spanish troops out of Iraq by this summer. Ostrich’s stick their head in the ground so they can’t see what’s going on and socialists try to appease or attempt to pacify evil. The inevitable concession is, as Webster’s Dictionary states in the definition of appeasement “often at the expense of principle.” Socialists have no principals.

The solution in America is simple, if you’re a socialist or lean towards the left and higher taxes with more government, vote Democratic. If you’re a Capitalist and believe in less government and lower taxes, vote Republican.

If you want to appease the people who attacked us on our ground, vote Democratic. If you believe we really are at war and the world is the battleground, vote Republican.

It was Thomas Jefferson who said, “Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security, will not have, nor do they deserve, either one." To fight for freedom takes a special kind of person with a special kind of spirit. Our troops!

CNN is doing its best to kill the spirit needed for America to go to war. “War Stories from the Front Lines,” is CNN’s anti war left wing socialist propaganda to turn America into ostriches. There is no gung ho let’s go on this program, only the worst of war. Thank god the media during World War II wasn’t the liberal media it is today.

No one wins whether it’s a football game or whether it’s a battle when your cheerleaders are against what you’re doing. It takes the spirit out of those who must maintain a high spirit. Our fighting forces are the bravest people on earth and we don’t need chicken shit reporters second-guessing our strategy, policy or anything. We are at war and we will be attacked again. CNN will have a field day when that happens and the left will say see I told you so.

FOX News Channel features War Stories with Oliver North who shows us the bravery of Americans. It gives us pride in what must be done to defend freedom.
In an earlier article I mentioned this war will last a hundred years and I believe it will. Iraq and Afghanistan are only battlefields in this world war and it’s better to fight the war over there instead of over here. Liberals seem to forget we were attacked, pray we won’t be attacked again but are unwilling fight for freedom.
In the words of Jefferson again, “Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security, will not have, nor do they deserve, either one."

By the way, how does anyone go to Vietnam for four months and receive a Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts without missing a day’s work? THEN uses the fact that he received the three Purple Hearts to get out of Vietnam eight months early and resigns six months early to run for Congress!

e·lit·ism or é·lit·ism (¹-l“t¹z”…m, ³-l“-) n. 1. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources. 2.a. The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class. b. Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class. --e·lit“ist adj. & n.

Definition from American
Heritage Dictionary

Read all the definitions of elitism and heed them well. The idea of perceived superiority can also come from the idea that one is doing what he/she believes is the best for others or in the case of environmentalism, the planet.

While people at the grassroots level are probably more sincere, the leadership of most environmental organizations are politically motivated and are the epitome of the modern day snake oil salesman. But this time the socialist is selling death to humans.

Founder's Quote:

"The original error [was in] establishing a judiciary independent of the nation, and which, from the citadel of the law, can turn its guns on those they were meant to defend, and control and fashion their proceedings to its own will."

--Thomas Jefferson

Editor's Comment: I received this quote in an e-mail from Federalist.com, and thought it needed to be passed on to you. Jefferson's worries have become a fact of the liberal side of the American judicial system.

The South Dakota Rapid City Journal reports:

Sen. Tom Daschle, D-S.D., on Thursday praised the Bush administration's war and nation-building work in Iraq and said he has no serious concerns about the lack of weapons of mass destruction. Daschle told state chamber of commerce representatives meeting in the South Dakota capital that he is satisfied with the way things are going in Iraq. "I give the effort overall real credit," Daschle said. "It is a good thing Saddam Hussein is no longer in power. It is a good thing we are democratizing the country." He said he is not upset about the debate over pre-war intelligence on weapons of mass destruction. Editors Comment: Daschle will do anything to win his Senate seat. I hope the people of South Dakota see through him.

How about a quote from our good old friend Bruce Babbitt on the Constitution:

"You can't read the Constitution like a rule book"
-Bruce Babbitt quoted by the Arizona Republic, July 8, 1987

A kid in school gets caught smoking in the bathroom. He gets turned in to the Principal. He cusses out the Principal, gets charged with a crime and gets suspended from school as punishment. All of this is reported on the O’Reilly Factor.
I have a bunch of problems with everything I just reported. In fact let’s compare what happened now in 2003 to what would have happened in 1950.
TODAY: A kid in school gets caught smoking in the bathroom.
1950: Could still have happened.
TODAY: He gets turned in to the Principal.
1950: To the VICE Principal.
TODAY: He cusses out the Principal.
1950: No way!
TODAY: gets charged with a crime.
1950: No way!
TODAY: gets suspended from school as punishment.
1950: Gets a SWAT with a huge wooden board.
TODAY: All of this is reported on the O’Reilly Factor.
1950: No way it makes national news.
TODAY: He returns to school a hero.
1950: He returns to class a hero after crying awhile.
TODAY: Kids are not afraid of suspension.
1950: SAME.
TODAY: Kids would fear the swat.
1950: Believe me, we feared the SWAT!
TODAY: We might have to SWAT girls.
1950: NOT!
Bill O’Reilly is continuing to prove how ridiculous he can be at times. On tonight’s show he told Laura Ingraham, author of a best selling book, “Shut Up and Sing,” she shouldn’t have called Madaline Albright, Madaline Halfbright. O’Reilly, unlike Rush Limbaugh takes himself very seriously. He actually believes his own headlines while bathing in his own self-importance. He actually believes elected officials should bow to him. He believes his opinion is all that matters. It all started when he hit a home run when the Florida professor Sami Al-Arian was arrested. I still watch O’Reilly and I still love him, but there are times when it’s gotten to the point that I can’t watch him for more than a few minutes.
America needs a Republican Congress with a large enough majority to support President Bush’s next term. Only with that kind of support can we American’s start to reverse the liberal activism of our courts. All of you need to do everything you can do in 2004 to not only re-elect George W. Bush, but to also give him the Congress he needs for America.
I can’t imagine what it must be like to be Alan Colmes of Hannity & Colmes. What can it feel like to consistently be wrong? What must it feel like to not understand how great a feeling it is to truly love and defend this country? Should we feel sorry for liberal socialist, one world bastards who constantly defend our enemies.
