    My Life

Well, the book is taking shape and I decided to post it in the chapter sequence based on the date. More will be added to the “Extra Stuff” section that will cover different stories left out of the chapters. I never intended to get this far with allowing anyone to read this, but what the hell. My Life may be a bit off course because the story starts when my grandparents moved to America from Mexico.     1923 – 1937 The Beginning of an American/Mexican Family 1937 – 1946...

1975 – 1979 From Entertainment to the Car Business

Editors Comment: Releasing each chapter the way I’m doing puts a lot of pressure on both me and the reader. If you read an entire book you would judge the book. Reading my book, one chapter at a time, makes you judge the book chapter by chapter. My point is, they all won’t be good, but I still hope you learn something. Comments are always important, even if you just let me know you read it.  ________________ When I left The Raintree, I had been out from under the corporate umbrella...

    SAKEMOTO

Sake is in an induced coma in the hospital. Please send your prayers to him and Marti here. UPDATE 12/8/2016 early AM. Marti said they didn’t expect Sake to make through the night. Let’s pray for Marti as well. She is in need.

1973/4 Gallaretto’s and Thirty Tons of Bricke

Editor’s note: I again mention women at the time, not to brag, but because it happened and I hope I’m reminding people that men and women really do attract each other. We seem to have a problem understanding that today. ______________________________________ Around 1973 0r 74 my partners and I had an opportunity to buy a beautiful restaurant in Torrance CA. It was built and opened as “Gallarretto’s,” a high end, very classy, high roller restaurant for the heavy hitters in Palos...

    1970 – 1975 The Raintree Years

Editor’s Note: I get a bit descriptive with a subject in this chapter so if you don’t want to read anything that I would classify as semi-adult language, don’t read on. Just to be clear, there were never any Hippies at The Raintree.  _________________________________________       Soon after my success with Production Data Systems, in mid-1969, I started going out almost every night. I had broken up with a girl I had been with for over two years and I was ready to hit the...

    1965 – 1966 Ford Aeronutronics

When I sold the Doll house I had a rough time getting a job. I had gone on a short vacation blowing the money I had made on the Doll House sale and I hadn’t realized how hard it would be to get a job. At every interview I was told I was over qualified because of the job I had had at AiResearch as a Production Control Supervisor. Things got so bad I was living in a pay by the night cheap hotel. It was an all-male hotel and there actually was a sign outside my window that blinked “CHEAP”...

1964 – 1965 The Plush Bunny & The Doll House

In 1960’s Southern California beer bars were in their hey day. There were beer bars that featured entertainment and beer bars that featured topless waitresses. There were beer bars that only sold beer and some that served wine. They usually had any number of pool tables, but those that weren’t topless had entertainment and dancing. One of the biggest beer bars was a place called Lil Abner’s in Long Beach. There was the Whale House, The Tomcat, Apple Annie’s and The Plush Bunny to name a few...

    1968 – 1971 Production Data Systems

After leaving Burgmaster I immediately formed Production Data Systems Inc, (PSDI) and started marketing my products. I had my boxes of tab cards that were the entire MRP system and I also made a deal to lease the computer owned by Data Systems of San Diego (DSSD. I made a deal so that the computer and facilities would be essentially mine from 6 PM every Friday till 6AM Monday morning. Don Weber, the owner, agreed and the deal would start when I got my first customer. In this way, I could honestly...

    1967 – 1968, Burgmaster

Editor’s Note: To gain a better perspective you may want to re-read, “1966 – 1967 The Hughes Tool Company, the Union and ME”,  before reading this chapter. 1967 – 1968, Burgmaster One of the reasons I took the time to tell you the war stories while I was at Hughes Tool Company was to point out that in the early days only the bulls like my boss and I fought back when data processing was sweeping the rest of the country’s manufacturing or materials managers into a temporary...

How To Get Rid Of Unwanted AVATARS (The Hard Way)

I think I have a way to get rid of the Avatars you don’t like. It’s cumbersome, but it works. Place your cursor over the Avatar, it will immediately cause a larger pop up window to appear. Ignore the larger Avatar and move your cursor to the smaller Avatar and right click Scroll all the way down to “inspect element and click on that. The bottom half of your screen will appear with lines of code. There will be a couple of lines already selected with the blue Hit delete and the Avatar goes poof!...
