    A Clear and Present Danger?

Last night I was watching the 1994 movie “A Clear and Present Danger” starring Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan. I’ve seen the movie about ten times and will usually watch it every other year. I think it’s one of the best movies based on a Tom Clancy book.

There is a scene where James Earl Jones, playing Admiral James Greer and dying of cancer, reminds Jack of an oath he took. Listen to what he said in the movie:

    Sounds patriotic doesn’t it?

In the movie he was reminding Jack of when he took his oath to support, protect and enforce the Constitution and the People of the United States.

As he spoke I was reminded of a Police Chief in New Mexico who also took the oath to protect our Constitution and the People. There’s only one problem, the movie is fiction but Police Chief Shane Harger, of Jemez Springs, NM Police Department, has a real life problem for doing it.

It’s a new problem that’s creeping over America and it needs our attention.

“TSA Harasses Police Chief – Placed On Administrative Leave – Told To Disband Entire Police Department”

    Read more about it HERE.

It seems the feds are testing us in the smallest communities in America. Did you read about the EPA swat team that raided Chicken, Alaska?

“The EPA needs a SWAT Team to collect water samples?”

    Read more about it HERE.

Since when does the Environmental Protection Agency have a SWAT team or even need a swat team? If you’re wondering what the Constitution says about it, I’ll give you my read on it in one word, NOTHING.

Since the Constitution does not specifically give the federal government the authority to form any enforcement organizations, the EPA’s SWAT team is unconstitutional. In fact, the EPA’s rules and regulations are unconstitutional because our Constitution only gives Congress the authority to make laws. Rules and regulations are laws. But even laws passed by Congress must be constitutional which means Congress has very limited authority when passing any law.

If you understand what I just wrote you will know only the States and the People can pass laws that are not authorized to the Feds. Remember the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the CONSTITUTION, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States, or to the people,”

If you want to know what the delegated powers Congress has, check out Article I, Section 8 and the president’s authority is defined in Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution. If you’ve never read those two Sections, you’ll be surprised how few powers and limited authority our Forefathers intended for the central government.

I mention you may not have read the Constitution because they quit teaching it to our children a long time ago and that reminds me of something Hitler said during a speech in 1933 when he was fundamentally changing Germany. He stated:

“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not come over to your side.’
I calmly say, your child belongs to us already…
What are you? You will pass on.
Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp.
In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.’”

Now you know why I’m against Pre-School, Head Start, early education or any other government program that takes a child away from their family’s influence too soon..

So getting back to Police Chief Shane Harger, he’s in trouble because he swore to uphold the Constitution at a Las Vegas meeting. The same Constitution he swore to uphold when he got the job.

Don’t you think the feds are twisting our Constitution a bit too much, and turning into a clear and present danger.?
