Wyoming Blocks “Next Generation Science Standards”

by C Howard Diaz

Wyoming lawmakers have turned against teaching Wyoming children that man made global warming is a fact as required by the new Next Generation Science Standards. A green organization, Climate Parents, is leading a charge to make the lawmakers look like idiots and those lawmakers are standing firm.

The state chairman of the board of education, Ron Micheli, is defending the lawmakers decision, but Climate Parents is organized to get the state to change its ways with the usual green tyrant tricks, like getting out of state signatures on a petition. 14,000 of them!

You should also read the article written by Leah Todd of the Wyoming Star Tribune titled, “Wyoming Blocks new science standards.” Read it here, http://trib.com/news/local/education/wyoming-blocks-new-science-standards/article_5d0ec624-6b50-5354-b015-ca2f5f7d7efe.html

These new science standards are just one more reason we should close the federal department of education.  The Constitution says nothing about the feds having any authority over the nations education system and its existence is more proof of the federal government walking on the Constitution. How did it happen? An article by American Policy Foundation, way back in 1992 explains:

”The National Education Association (NEA) is the largest, richest, most politicized union in America. Its millions of members are forced to join, if they intend to stay long in the class room, and they must pay dues.

In addition the NEA receives grants from the federal government to the tune of several million dollars a year, owns vast property holdings and has chapters in every state, every school district and nearly every community.

In 1976 the NEA endorsed Jimmy Carter for president and cashed in through his creation of the Federal Department of Education. Since then, the NEA has built its power through federal intervention of local school curriculum.

The NEA’s agenda is strictly leftist, big government, big spending dogma. Socialist ideas have long driven the heart of the NEA as reported in its official  publication, “NEA Journal”. Its articles  continually advocate the necessity for  social and economic central planning;  the use of income tax for redistribution of  wealth; wage and hour controls;  consumer protection; pro United Nations  and world government.

The 1992 NEA convention – which endorsed Bill Clinton – floated a similar raft of radicalism. The union came out for “unrestricted universal access” to health care for all, including illegal aliens; it endorsed a convention that would, in essence, attack Western Civilization on the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ historic discovery.

The 1993 convention got even more radical with approval of such proposals as “multicultural global education,” “comprehensive school-based clinics, and “early childhood education programs in the public schools for children from birth through age eight.

At that convention, the NEA marched in lockstep in its opposition to standardized testing, which might be used to measure how well teachers and students measured up.

It comes as no surprise then, that the NEAis the driving force behind Goals 2000, with its history revisionism, its efforts to control children from birth and its national school board which dictates a national agenda. All have been NEA goals for some time.”

From the beginning of the United States of America in 1787 till the early 20th century, before centralized federal schooling, the American people created the greatest nation in the world. The most powerful nation. Americans have invented the invention needed at the time almost every time.

America went to the moon and back before a federal department of education was created proving a central control of a child’s mind is only needed by people like Hitler. His was the ultimate in central planning and education in his era. Little by little America has succumbed to the socialist model.

So much so that back in 1996 the Washington Times reported:

“Communist Party USA held its annual convention and it was aired on C-SPAN.  Gus Hall, the President of the Communist Party USA talked about the past year in which the party has doubled in size.  He implied the party is in control of the union movement in America and when discussing the party platform one would have a difficult time distinguishing it from the Democratic platform.”

For those of you who weren’t around when the Soviet Union fell and the Berlin Wall came down, where do you think all the committed communists went? They became watermelons, you know, green on the outside and red on the inside. Yep, the flagship of the commies around the world is the environmental movement and the battle plan is convincing you that man made global warming is a fact.

I mean, hell, the leader of the communist world, when it fell, was Mikhail Gorbachev and he became the CEO of the Green Cross with offices in San Francisco and Costa Rica. Believe me yet? How about this? Gorby is quoted as saying:

“The idea of socialism lives on, and it is my feeling that the quest — the desire to experiment and to find a new form for putting the socialist idea into practice — is on-going.”

Mikhail Gorbachev, The Arizona Daily Star, March 1992

and he said this

“It is unrealistic for the rest of the world to reach the American living standard.”
“We should therefore, develop other models.  People will understand what is good for them.”

Mikhail Gorbachev, Parade interview, August 23, 1994

So it’s taken quite a few years to get to where we are today and that’s why the lawmakers in Wyoming are trying to do what’s right for the children of Wyoming.

They represent the last gasps for freedom from a once constitutional country that is now damn near dead.
