“Crimea was part of Russia from 1783, when the Tsarist Empire annexed it a decade after defeating Ottoman forces in the Battle of Kozludzha, until 1954, when the Soviet government transferred Crimea from the Russian Soviet Federation of Socialist Republics (RSFSR) to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (UkrSSR). The transfer was announced in the Soviet press in late February 1954, eight days after the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet adopted a resolution authorizing the move on 19 February.”**
This means Crimea was part of Russia for as long as the United States has been the United States. They were a casualty of the expansion of the Soviet Union. What most talking heads won’t say or don’t know is while being the center of it, Russia was also part of the Soviet Union. It was during that time when Khrushchev held the “Meeting of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet” on February 19th 1954.
The declaration stated in part:
”unity of Russians and Ukrainians” and to the “great and indissoluble friendship” between the two peoples, and the affirmation that the transfer would demonstrate how wise it was to have Ukraine “under the leadership of the Communist Party and the Soviet government”
That was communist bullshit because Crimea had been part of Russia since 1783.
It was under that Soviet Union that made the transfer of Crimea was made to the Ukraine in 1954. It was considered an internal action within the Soviet Union, but I believe the people of Crimea didn’t like it, they were Russians.
So, what of Putin’s action in 2014 concerning Crimea?
In an interview with Oliver Stone, Vladimir Putin said the Crimean Parliament voted to ask Russia to annex them back to be a part of Russia again. The citizens of Crimea identify as Russians, speak Russian and have a closer tie with the Russian people. I believe him.
The Crimean people did not want any part of the revolution that was taking place in the Ukraine and did not want to be a part of the US backed government.
With Crimea’s request Putin sent the Russian military to Crimea to protect them from any backlash that might come from the Ukraine. Again, I believe Putin.
When the Ukraine president, President Viktor Yanukovych suspended preparations for signing an association agreement with the European Union, the globalist Left went nuts and there was a revolution that ended up with Yanukovych fleeing to Russia. Crimea didn’t want any part of that revolution and that’s when they turned to Russia and asked to take Crimea back to their true home, Russia.
The Globalists, the Left and the Main Stream media will not tell you the whole story and when that happens I move my chips to supporting Putin. When you also find out McCain and Obama were on the side of the revolution in the Ukraine I move more of my chips to Putin.
I can only hope President Trump is armed with the truth so he can tell the EU, NATO and the Globalist Left media to go to hell when they ask him what he’s going to do about Crimea.
